Police search for suspect after man shot and killed in Auburndale

The victim was found inside a car suffering from a gunshot wound.

AUBURNDALE, Fla. — A man is dead after Auburndale police say he was found in a car with a gunshot wound on Sunday afternoon.

The Auburndale Police Department responded to the call around 4 p.m. They arrived on the scene near a home on Reiter Drive and Timothy Street and found an injured 27-year-old Hispanic male, inside a blue 2022 Chrysler Pacifica.

The man was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where he later died from his gunshot wound.

Police said the incident appears to be isolated, but citizens are urged to be cautious as the suspect or suspects are still at large.
