WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — If you are a Star Wars fan in the Tampa Bay area, you have a chance to celebrate "Star Wars Day," Saturday, May 4, with a new furry friend.
The Polk County Animal Control is hosting a Star Wars-themed "May the Four Paws be With You" free pet adoption event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at their location in the area of De Castro Road and the Polk Parkway in Winter Haven.
The organization says every pet adopted will have its vaccinations, microchips, county licenses and spay or neuter surgeries completed.
"We're excited to be able to provide free pets to loving homes during this annual summertime event. Bring the whole family, and find your furr-ever friend," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement.
