TAMPA, Fla. — Three Oaks Hospitality has announced the closing of a speakeasy in Tampa, a pioneer for its prohibition-inspired aesthetic.

Ciro’s is closed due to “structural issues” at the Bayshore Royal building, where it has leased space out since its inception in 2009, according to a news release.

Though the speakeasy appears as permanently closed when searched for on Google, Three Oaks doesn’t see the recent developments as the end of the road.

"While it deeply saddens us to close Ciro's at this time, we hope the HOA can find a way to make the improvements needed with our landlord so that we may re-open one day,” founder and owner of Three Oaks Hospitality Chas Bruck said in a statement.

Three Oaks will host a special pop-up event at its “sister concept” Jekyll on May 8, located in Hyde Park. Net proceeds made from bidding on Ciro’s memorabilia will go to the Children’s Dream Fund, the release said.
