Gulf Middle School resumes normal operations after report of weapon on campus

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says no weapon was found after a report of a person on Gulf Middle School's campus with a possible weapon.

The agency first made the announcement in a Facebook post on Tuesday afternoon that the New Port Richey school was under controlled campus status after the report of a weapon.

After conducting the search, authorities say the report of a weapon was regarding a discussion about a video game.

The school is returning to normal operations.
