TAMPA, Fla. — Soon, there won’t be anything to do but kick your shoes off and be a “Wild Child” for two hours at Kenny Chesney’s upcoming concert in Tampa.
After weeks of rehearsal, Chesney’s 19th headline tour “Sun Goes Down” is set to kick off at 5 p.m. April 20 at Raymond James Stadium, according to the stadium’s Facebook page.
Chesney’s stage is being assembled for the show Saturday night and those who missed out on tickets when they were sold out will still be able to enjoy the ride — thanks to Chesney himself.
The country star, known for fan-favorite songs “When the Sun Goes Down,” “American Kids” and “You and Tequila,” found out his first show sold out in early April. As a result, he said he felt he owed the No Shoes Nation a show worth a lifetime.
“I was both thrilled and determined to open up even more seats at Raymond James Stadium. I’ve always felt like everyone who wants to be there... should be there,” Chesney said in a Facebook post.
In the post, he promised to work with his team to make more tickets available through his website. As a result, tickets are now available at any primary concert ticket site including ticketmaster.com, according to radio station WKML 95.7.
“They’ve never let me down. It’s one of those things where we want to make sure everyone can have a great experience, not just throw tickets up,” Chesney told Country Now.
Concertgoers may hear new songs from his latest album “Born,” released last month.
Chesney will be joined by the Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney and Uncle Kracker.
