Person hospitalized after shooting at Zephyrhills McDonald's

According to police, two men were fighting at the fast-food restaurant before shots were fired.

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — A shooting at a McDonald's in Zephyrhills sent one person to the hospital, police said. 

It happened just before 11 a.m. Tuesday at the McDonald's on Gall Boulevard near Fort King Road. According to the Zephyrhills Police Department, officers were called to the fast-food restaurant after getting reports of a fight and shooting involving two men. 

As a result of the fight and subsequent shooting, one person was hurt and taken to AdventHealth Zephyrhills for treatment. Police said the individual suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police did not specify if the person injured was one of the two men or a bystander. However, officers said they believe the shooting was an isolated incident, meaning the public isn't in danger. 

At this time, police have not said if anyone was arrested or if charges are pending. Officers said they are continuing to investigate what led to the shooting.
