No more curbside pickup ♻️People living in Bradenton will have to bring their cans, bottles and boxes to drop-off centers starting next month. That's right — the city is ending curbside recycling pickup. The public works director said it simply "had to be done" after staffing shortages left crews overstretched and unable to keep up. The Deeper Dive: Bradenton isn't the only one strugglingEarlier this year, Polk County took a one-month recycling collection hiatus to allow overstretched crews to focus on trash collection. That was a whole other issue. At one point, families were waiting up to 13 days for their trash to get picked up, making for some pretty gross smells and pileups in the streets. 1.
