PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — Police say the driver involved in a "severe" crash that closed the northbound lanes of Grand Avenue just north of Gandy Boulevard in Pinellas Park has died.
Officers with the Pinellas Park Police Department say the driver was speeding while heading north on Grand Avenue and failed to navigate a curve in the road and crashed into a large tree.
The impact caused the car to come back into the roadway, blocking traffic.
Several hours after the incident, officers say all roadways are back open.
