CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. — The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that happened Thursday night.
Detectives responded to shots fired in the area of Copeland Park.
Tyler Hopkins, 26, of Hernando, was found with gunshot wounds in the front yard off Northeast 1st Street in Crystal River.
Hopkins was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
No arrests have been made.
Early on in the investigation, the sheriff's office sent messages to the people who live in the neighborhood to get inside and lock their doors.
