TAMPA, Fla. — UPDATE (11:45 a.m.): The tornado warning has expired.
UPDATE: The National Weather Service says there are reports of a confirmed tornado on the ground. It is currently moving toward Kathleen, the NWS says.
Meteorologists are urging the public to take shelter immediately.

A tornado warning has been expanded for parts of the Tampa Bay area.
The latest alert has the tornado warning in effect until 11:45 p.m. for Polk, Hillsborough and Pasco Counties.
Specifically, the National Weather Service in Ruskin has issued a tornado warning for southeastern Pasco County, northwestern Polk County and northeastern Hillsborough County.
At 10:55 p.m., the NWS says a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Lakeland Linder Airport or near Plant City -- moving north at 25 mph.
People living in the area are being urged to seek shelter immediately.
