NORTH PORT, Fla. — Police are searching for an elderly man with Alzheimer's who left his home Saturday night.

North Port police say Lazar Tapesh, 86, left sometime after 11 p.m. Saturday. Police say he thinks he's driving to "Romania," which his family believes is Detroit, where they previously lived.
