TAMPA, Fla. — An arrest was made following a deadly mosque shooting in Tampa last month.

Hillsborough County deputies said MD Haque, 40, was charged with second-degree felony murder with a firearm after a warrant was issued for him Friday afternoon.

Haque turned himself in Saturday.

The widow of a man shot outside a Tampa mosque filed a lawsuit against the Islamic Society of Tampa Bay.

The widow said her husband had done electrical work at the mosque a few weeks earlier and had been threatened by a security guard.

Officials with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the victim and the alleged shooter knew each other and had an ongoing dispute that led to the shooting; but the shooting was not connected to a hate crime.

The widow claimed her husband told the mosque officials about it, but they didn't act and that put her husband at risk.
