Disney World to offer passholder previews for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

The free previews will be offered to those with Platinum, Platinum Plus and Premier annual passes.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Disney World passholders will be among the first to travel to a galaxy far, far away this summer.

Disney announced Monday that Platinum, Platinum Plus and Premier annual passholders will have the opportunity to register for free previews of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. The new land opens to the public on Aug. 29 at Disney's Hollywood Studios park in Orlando.

The company said capacity is limited for its Star Wars-themed expansion. The previews will be on a first-come, first served basis.

Disney said more information about passholder preview registration will be released at a later date.

In May, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opened to the public at Disneyland in California.

Disney World in Orlando hosted passholder previews before it officially opened Pandora: The World of Avatar back in 2017, allowing some passholders two-hour windows to experience the land before it opened at Animal Kingdom.

Passholder previews were not available for Toy Story Land before it opened at Hollywood Studios.
