ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 47-year-old woman died early Wednesday morning after turning off her vehicle without putting the gear in "park," investigators say.
It happened in a driveway on Valencia Circle in St. Petersburg.
As she got out of her vehicle, police say it began to roll backward and knocked her to the ground. Due to the position of the steering wheel, officers say the car turned and ran her over -- killing her.
A neighborhood security guard found the woman around 4:37 a.m. and called 911.
Police identified the victim as Yong Sue O'Donnell.
An investigation is underway.
