Man accused of killing wife's family formally charged with her murder

Officials say when her parents got suspicious after not hearing her voice for a long time, he drove to Tarpon Springs and killed them too.

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A man accused of killing his wife, then killing her parents and brother when they got suspicious, has been formally charged with first-degree murder in his wife's murder, according to court records.

Shelby John Nealy, aka Shelby Svensen, 25, was charged in Pasco County for the death of Jamie Nicole Ivancic, 21, on Thursday.

Nealy had already been charged in Pinellas County in the December deaths of 71-year-old Richard Louis Ivancic, 59-year-old Laura Ann Ivancic, and 25-year-old Nicholas James Ivancic.

Jamie Ivancic's body was found buried in the yard of a Port Richey home in January. Officials said she may have been dead for more than a year.

Detectives say Nealy confessed to killing Richard, Laura and Nicholas Ivancic on Dec. 15, 2018. According to a criminal complaint, Nealy said he moved to Texas after killing his wife and used Jamie's phone to keep in contact with her parents.

When her parents got suspicious because they hadn't heard her voice, they say Nealy drove his wife's vehicle to Tarpon Springs and killed them, along with their son.

Nealy then went to Ohio, where he was arrested and extradited back to Florida.

State officials have said they will seek the death penalty for him, according to The Tampa Bay Times.
