A 76-year-old Treasure Island man held his wife captive for four days, beating and choked her, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.

Kenneth David Wozny was arrested Monday.

According to arrest affidavits, Wozny punched, shoved and choked his wife, telling her "I'm going to kill you" and "I want you dead."

Wozny took her phone and car keys and would not let her leave the bedroom to eat or shower between Friday and Monday, deputies said.

The victim suffered severe injuries to her face, neck, both arms, both legs and her tailbone, deputies said.

When deputies went to the home to check on the wife's welfare, they said Wozny tried to push one of them down a stairwell. They said he continued to struggle with them and refused to obey commands.

Wozny was charged with domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, tampering with a witness, resisting an officer with violence and battery on a person 65 or older.
