ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- “I can’t eat, I can’t sleep. I grieve a lot and I’m tired of hurting," a family says.

Roy and Sylvia Underdue-Lee held on to each other, holding a picture of their daughter, Lisa, as they talked about the pain of losing her.

“My baby really didn’t even live her life. She was just 47-years-old, and she was murdered. She was killed unnecessarily,” Sylvia Underdue-Lee said.

In addition to her parents, Lisa leaves behind three adult children, four sisters and a brother. She was hit and killed while walking Oct. 29 on 18th Avenue South at 18th Street South. Her parents say she was just a block away from her home.

“If they would have stopped and called 911, she maybe would have been living today,” her father said.

“My question is why. Why? It doesn’t take anything for a person to stop,” Sylvia Underdue-Lee said.

It’s what St. Petersburg police are still investigating. With little information other than a picture of a blurry white car seen in surveillance video, investigators are relying on the public for help.

Police still are looking for a suspect in a deadly hit-and-run crash from October.

It’s one of several pedestrian involved crashes police say they’re seeing more of across the Tampa Bay area in recent weeks. Since Dec. 1, at least a dozen pedestrian involved crashes have been reported.

“They killed my daughter. They left her on the side of the road like an animal,” Sylvia Underdue-Lee said.

While it won’t bring Lisa back, her parents say an arrest would help with the healing process during an already incredibly tough holiday season.

“Whoever it is, I just pray they come forward, so we can get some closure in this deal because it’s really tough on the family,” Roy Underdue-Lee said.

If you recognize the car, contact St. Petersburg Police 727-893-7780 or text SPPD, plus your tip, to TIP411. Under Florida law, a driver must stop immediately at the scene of a crash on public or private property which results in property damage, injury or death.
