A lemur, a wallaby and several other animals discovered during DUI stop on I-4

Troopers secured several animals during the DUI stop, including a ring-tailed lemur, an agile wallaby, a tortoise, a parrot, a goat and a sheep.

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- A man hauling a trailer with exotic animals is facing DUI charges after dash cam video showed him swerving on Interstate 4.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol got calls from other drivers of a pickup truck with a trailer driving erratically. Three callers claimed the driver of the truck had hit their vehicles without stopping, CBS affiliate WKMG reports.

Police located the driver and witnessed sparks and debris fly out on the roadway because the trailer was missing two right tires. They say the driver, identified as Shane Taylor, 27, was "slurring his speech, had bloodshot eyes and appeared to be disoriented."

Then police noticed several animals in the back of the trailer. One of them, a ring-tailed lemur, jumped out of the trailer and showed interest in the troopers. The animal then nearly ran out onto the freeway before troopers were able to secure it.

They also caught several other animals, including an agile wallaby, a tortoise, a parrot, a goat and a sheep.
