Sarasota detectives looking for suspect accused of breaking into cafe, stealing food and money

He is seen on video going through a cooler, removing and eating a sandwich and opening then drinking from a jug of milk.

SARASOTA, Fla. -- Sarasota detectives need the public's help identifying and finding a burglary suspect seen breaking into a cafe around 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 23.

According to police, a man walked into the cafe near the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens on South Palm Avenue in Sarasota. In the video, the roughly 30-year-old is seen wearing a white v-neck shirt.

Once he got inside the cafe, he is seen on surveillance video going through a cooler, removing and eating a sandwich then opening and drinking from a milk jug. He is then accused of taking an unknown amount of cash from the register before leaving around 1:35 a.m.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact the Sarasota Police Department at 941-364-7326.
