A man is accused of biting a Pasco deputy. A K-9 bit back.

Duane Edward Sheehan Jr. faces several charges after the sheriff's office said he bit a deputy in the arm.

BAYONET POINT, Fla. – A driver pulled over for suspected drug activity bit a Pasco County sheriff’s deputy on the arm while resisting arrest, authorities say.

A K-9 named Chris bit Duane Edward Sheehan Jr. back before deputies arrested him Tuesday on U.S. 19 near Beacon Woods Drive.

During a three-minute chase, deputies say Sheehan hit a tree and a power pole.

Sheehan, 33, then drove into two vehicles – including a deputy's cruiser – before coming to a stop, the sheriff’s office said.

He is accused of resisting arrest and biting a deputy. Deputies arrested Sheehan after K-9 Chris reportedly bit him back.

Investigators say they found a clear plastic ring bag on the ground with a crystal substance inside. It tested positive for methamphetamine, according to an arrest report.

First responders took the person Sheehan is accused of hitting to the hospital with neck and back pain. Sheehan was also taken there to be cleared by doctors.

Sheehan is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence, aggravated fleeing to elude, leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, possession of cocaine, three counts of reckless driving with property damage and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
