10 Weather: Feeling the warmth through the week!

Dry and sunny conditions persist with temperatures turning hot each afternoon.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — More wall-to-wall sunshine leads to another very toasty afternoon! Make sure you have a way to stay cool to prevent heat exhaustion especially if you are working outside.

Today: An area of high pressure has a tight hold on our forecast, allowing a week of rain-free weather. We are in a surplus of rain which is a plus as we move towards wildfire season. Just be aware: little to no cloud cover means a higher UV index and a sunburn could happen in as little as 10 minutes or less. Be sure to apply the sunscreen often and generously!

Thursday & This Weekend: Humidity begins to creep back in and temperatures skyrocket!  Temperatures will crank up with the dry pattern ahead; we could see our first 90° day for Tampa International by this weekend! Thanks to more moisture and humid conditions we could see a tiny bit of relief from a stray passing shower this weekend.

Next Week: A front will move through, bringing a chance of rain by Monday, but not a great change in temperatures as highs continue to climb in the middle 80s. Rain chances are around 30% so we can finally feel a little relief from the heat and allergies.
