Pregnant woman in intensive care after getting shot in Dunedin, sheriff's office says

The medical condition of the unborn baby is unknown and the 18-year-old woman remains in intensive care, the sheriff's office said.

DUNEDIN, Fla. – The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office confirmed the woman shot Wednesday in Dunedin is about 20 weeks pregnant.

The medical condition of the unborn baby is unknown and the 18-year-old woman remains in intensive care, the sheriff's office said.

The shooting happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday in an apartment on the 1100 block of New York Avenue.

The victim's live-in boyfriend told detectives the two of them were at home when a man dressed in black – including a mask and hood – entered through the front door, which was unlocked.

The suspect then shot a woman with a handgun, then ran northbound along New York Avenue.
