Daytona Beach police officer gives gator a sign that it's time to leave

The gator refused to yield.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- When we see a gator walking down the street or in a pond, we think just another day in Florida.

In this case, the gator ignores all signs that it's time to leave.

The gator was found Tuesday behind a RaceTrac gas station by a delivery person throwing out some boxes.

Daytona Beach police responded, and like any police officer would do with a wayward youngster, Sgt. Ransom attempted to "steer" the young reptile right, out of the trash and into a nearby pond.

Even better, Ransom used a "Yield" sign the business held onto after it was knocked down.

Obviously, the 'tough character' wasn't too keen on yielding and instead tried to stop and hiss a few times at police.

The gator hissed all the way home, according to police, but thankfully no officers were hurt.

Way to go, Sarge! We can only hope others will learn to appreciate and pay attention to street signs.
