An 18-year-old woman is in intensive care after she was shot during a home invasion at a duplex in Dunedin, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
It happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday in an apartment in the 1100 block of New York Ave.
Detectives say the victim was taken to the hospital, where she is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The victim's live-in boyfriend told detectives the two of them were at home when an unidentified male all dressed in black, including a mask and hood, entered through the front door, which was unlocked.
The suspect then shot woman with a handgun, then ran northbound along New York Avenue.
A law enforcement official said it was still early in the investigation, but authorities do not believe this was a domestic incident.
The only description of the suspect is a male wearing all black with a black mask and a hood.
