Aspiring Atlantic Beach rapper shot to death in Jax Beach drive-by

Leon D'shawn Bennett, the 23-year-old man shot to death in Jacksonville Beach Saturday, was an aspiring rapper, according to his Facebook page.

Leon D'shawn Bennett, the 23-year-old man shot to death in Jax Beach Saturday, was an aspiring rapper, according to his Facebook page. Bennett was found at about 2 a.m. bleeding at 7th Avenue N.

He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. Police have no suspects.

Bennett was shot by someone in a vehicle near 1st Street and 7th Avenue N, according to Jacksonville Beach police. The vehicle drove off heading west on 7th Avenue N. A witness said Bennett collapsed on a vehicle in front of his girlfriend.

Bennett, who goes by the rap name "Lee Khan," is the second Jacksonville area rapper shot in a drive-by shooting this month. The first one occurred June 5 when rapper Yungeen Ace was the lone survivor of a quadruple-shooting near the St. Johns Town Center.

Khan released a music video this year on YouTube where he mostly raps about guns, drugs, family and enemies.

Bennett also used his Instagram page to promote his music. He also posted pictures of his two children he leaves behind.
