ARCADIA, Fla. -- Oh dear, oh my, no more: this young deer should receive the best of care after its mother was hit by a car.
The female fawn, named Penny Lane after The Beatles, is being treated since she was brought in earlier this week to the Owl's Nest Sanctuary for Wildlife.
Manager Kris Curcio-Porter on Facebook posted the little girl is doing just "awesome." Pictures show Porter bottle-feeding the animal to keep up its health.
"Those that know me... biggest Beatles fan ever!" she wrote, in part. "Her mom got hit by a car in Arcadia and the baby got thrown into a ditch she is doing awesome and is just a little thing!"

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officials say the best way to help a wild animal is to leave it alone as it could cause harm to itself or the person helping it. However, it's never a bad idea to contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, like Owl's Nest.
