Cheerleading coach accused of inappropriate behavior with teen, Hillsborough deputies say

A cheerleading coach is accused of inappropriate behavior with a 16-year-old girl, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

BRANDON, Fla. – A cheerleading coach is accused of inappropriate behavior with a 16-year-old girl, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Victor Martin Valenty, 28, of Oldsmar, made his first appearance before a judge Friday morning after being charged with 10 counts of traveling to meet a minor, distributing obscene material to a minor, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, and obscene communications by allowing use of computer pornography.

Valenty, a cheerleading coach with Storm All Stars in Brandon, is ordered by the court to not have any contact with the victim, anyone under the age of 18 and not to use any device with an internet connection.

His bond is set at $250,000. A judge said the high bond was warranted given the "egregious" facts of the case.

He is a cheerleading coach with Storm All Stars in Brandon.

According to deputies, Valenty sent sexually explicit pictures of himself to the victim via SnapChat between March or April of 2016 and May 2017. The teen was 14 years old when it began.

Between August 2016 and May 2017, Valenty traveled between his home and different locations in Hillsborough County to pick up the victim and take her to his home for sex, deputies said.

Valenty admitted to sending and receiving photos to and from the victim, deputies said.

Storm All Stars posted a statement on its Facebook page, saying it immediately fired Valenty and is cooperating with authorities.

Pinellas County deputies are also investigating the case, and additional charges are possible.

While no other victims have been identified, detectives ask that anyone who thinks they are a victim or has any information about other victims, call (813) 247-8200.
