ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- An overturned trailer owned by Zimmer Equipment Inc. spilled a load of scrap metal onto the southbound entrance ramp of Interstate 275 at 22nd Avenue on Monday.

The almost two-ton trailer was in the eastbound right turn lane of 22nd Avenue and attempted to make a wide turn to get on the highway's entrance ramp. As it turned, the trailer rolled onto its left side and spilled the scrap metal load on the shoulder.

A crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol reported the driver uninjured and determined he was not distracted or impaired at the time of the crash.

FHP also reported that the southbound entrance ramp would be closed until 3 or 4 p.m. Monday for clean-up.
