Tampa police look for driver, vehicle involved in fatal hit-and-run

Tampa police said a vehicle hit a woman and fled the scene.

TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying the driver and vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash.

The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. Sunday at North Nebraska Avenue and East Linebaugh Avenue. The intersection was closed for several hours Sunday night.

Tampa police said a vehicle hit a woman and fled the scene.

Police believe the vehicle could be a white SUV. It was last seen driving north on Nebraska Avenue from East Linebaugh Avenue.

Authorities said drag racing or speeding were not indicated as factors in the crash during the investigations early stages.
