Meet Frito, Clearwater Marine Aquarium's smallest rescue yet!

Before, there was Cheeto. Then there was Funyun. And now, there's Frito! The Clearwater Marine Aquarium has taken in their smallest rescue yet!

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- The Clearwater Marine Aquarium has certainly made a name for itself for rescuing and rehabilitating sea animals.

CMA has gone above and beyond to ensure that they all get the proper care they need, including but not limited to tiny little seahorses.

The marine aquarium has yet again rescued and rehabilitated ANOTHER seahorse.

We're not 'horsing' around here!

You might remember Cheeto, the seahorse sensation that captivated a worldwide audience after it survived the fall from a seagull's mouth and a little girl rescued her. CMA live-streamed her recovery until she was ready to be released.

Then came along Funyun, a female lined seahorse also rescued near Indian Shores Beach and brought to CMA to be rehabilitated for release back into the ocean.

Now there's 'Frito', who was rescued by a local resident and her two daughters on Sat., June 10 off Redington Shores. Dawn McCartney and her daughters found the seahorse with fishing line wrapped around her neck several times and tangled up among trash.

After carefully untangling her, the family brought Frito to the marine aquarium to help the tiny seahorse, which has now become their smallest rescue yet!

The Clearwater Marine Aquarium even live-streamed her recovery!

Frito was monitored from a tank and after the aquarium thought she was ready, she was released Thursday.
