ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – ESPN personality Jemele Hill is set to speak this weekend at the St. Petersburg League of Women Voters Annual Luncheon.

The event is set for noon ET Saturday at the ballroom of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.

Hill will take questions from the audience of League members, community leaders, student advocates and student-athletes.

“It’s important to reinforce that having a voice in our democracy is a basic right guaranteed to all citizens, regardless of income, race, gender, or profession,” Hill said in a news release. “I’m thrilled to exchange and share ideas with the thought leaders and activists in St. Pete, who have led the way in having these important conversations about inclusive voices.”

Tickets for the event are available at the door for $15.

Hill co-anchored “SC6” – the rebranded version of “SportsCenter” – with Michael Smith from February 2017 to February 2018.

She left the “SC6” role to work senior writer for ESPN online publication The Undefeated. Smith has also since left "SC6."

On Sept. 11, 2017, Hill posted a tweet that referred to President Donald Trump as a “white supremacist.”

The White House called for ESPN to fire Hill.

“I’m not sure he’s aware but I think that’s one of the more outrageous comments that anyone could make and certainly something that I think is a fireable offense by ESPN,” said White House press secretary Huckabee Sanders.

Hill also tweeted a suggestion that her followers boycott the Dallas Cowboys because of the team’s stance related to players and protests during the playing of the National Anthem. ESPN suspended her for two weeks.
