6 people arrested, suspected of breaking into Polk County auto shop

The sheriff's office arrested six people ages 24, 21, 15, two 14-year-olds and 13.

BARTOW, Fla. – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested six people suspected of breaking several windows at an auto shop on Tuesday night.

The six people are aged 24, 21, 15, two 14-year-olds and 13.

The sheriff's office identified Jonathan Thomas, 21, (pictured on the left side) Joseph Thomas, 24, (pictured on the right side) as two of the suspects. The other four suspects are unnamed because they are minors.

A sheriff’s deputy heard glass breaking around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Scrap It III Auto Salvage at 3450 Highway 17 North.

The deputy then radioed in for backup.

Three of the people arrested also broke into the business on Monday, March 26, according to the sheriff’s office.

The six people are charged with burglary of a business and criminal mischief.
