SPRING HILL, Fla. -- A suspect is in custody following an overnight shooting that injured two people at a Hernando County bar.

Deputies responded early Sunday, Feb. 11, to the Delirium Lounge on Mariner Boulevard, according to the sheriff's office.

Sheriff Al Nienhuis said a woman at the bar was approached by a man. When she indicated she did not to talk with him, another person stepped in to help defend her. Amid a confrontation, the suspect fired at least one shot.

Two people were taken to an area hospital for treatment, and they're expected to be OK, Nienhuis said.

The suspect, who has not yet been identified, was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

An investigation is ongoing.
